About Us
Jason Taft
Born and raised in beautiful Denver, Colorado, I have spent a vast majority of my life among the conifer trees and majestic peaks of the Rocky Mountains. There is an amazing feeling and a deep respect that comes from my encounters climbing these breathtaking peaks. When not climbing I am busy finishing my degree in Education from Colorado Christian University and being a firefighter with the Elk Creek Fire Department. I also enjoy traveling the world and have spent time in India, Europe, the Middle East, and South America. Our team is in the process of planning climbing trips to Aconcagua and Kilomanjaro within the next year. In my free time I also enjoy hanging out with inner city kids and trying to decipher the lyrics of the great Pearl Jam.
Matt Coleman
Even though I was born in Texas, I somehow developed a great love and respect for the high country God has created. Moving to Colorado 6 years ago with my family was the gateway into a life of mountain experiences. I started out with caving and chimney rocking and soon bought my own rock climbing and camping gear. Now it's all high altitude glacier travel! I graduated from CCU with a International Studies major with an emphasis in missions. Somehow I have found a way to combine my two loves - Missions and Mountaineering - having been on 7 trips with the school and summitting numerous peaks in between classes. This is my third year to have travelled and ministered in Ecuador. I have already summitted the amazing peaks of Rucu Pichinncha and Cotopaxi and am looking forward to summitting the others with Team Chimbo. God knew what he was doing when he invented the Avenue of the Volcanoes.
James Ward
On May 29th 1978, I was born in the mountains. When I was 1 year old, my parents drug me away from them kicking and screaming. They left for the greener pastures of California. Luckily 4 years ago I returned. I have fallen in love with the mountains! The joy it is for me to be out in God's majestic creation is amazing. I have enjoyed rock climbing, summer backpacking, and many other outdoor activites. Now I am entering into a new realm of outdoor adventures. High altitude mountaineering brings more excitement than any of the other activites. I hope that the peaks I will conquer and the suffering I will experience will help to build me into a better person. I hope they will bring me closer to God and others. Surely I will learn more about perseverance, and hopefully more about who I am and what I want to be.
